How often is the Customs Broker exam given and how do I sign up?

The US Customs and Border Protection Service offers the exam twice a year, The first Monday in October and the first Monday in April. In order to take the exam you must submit an application at least 30 days before the exam to US Customs at the Port where were you plan to take the exam. We provide the application to our students with their materials. Customs charges a fee to take the exam. Currently, that fee is $200.00.

What is the exam like?

The exam normally consists of 80 multiple choice questions which must be answered within 4 hours. It is an open book exam and you can take the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and the Code of Federal Regulations to the exam. (As of the April 2004 exam, you can take any additional written materials into the exam. That makes our book and reference materials the most valuable tool you can find to help you through the test.) It is usually given at a federal building building or some location like a public library.

How is your Customs Broker Exam Prep Course structured?
